K Day

Thoughts on K Day from our President Ken Jones.

"K Day (Kestevin Cup Day) in my memories has always been a local event with the cream of Canterbury surf athletes on the beach. It is a carnival that is always at Taylors and is our event. Traditionally K Day was the week or so before the NZ Champs and a chance to fine tune. The event has now moved into a total team competition with the best of our senior athletes on the beach from a competition point of view. We have three very competitive teams on the beach this year. Our A team is lead by Liam O'loughlin who is a current member of the NZ Kayak Team and with James Feathery and Peter Ratray are the NZ Champions of Surf Ski Rescue.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the Juniors to see how it is all done and will be very exciting racing. I will be on the beach and am more than happy to spend time with a group explaining what is going on. This is a great opportunity for the TM Family to enjoy together

Regards and See You there

Ken"
