Our patron
Club Patron - Harry Goldsmith
Recently Jim Turpin and myself had the pleasure of interviewing Harry Goldsmith, the Patron of the Taylors Mistake Surf Life Saving Club. This interview which was recorded in digital audio form is available to listen to below. It is broken into 4 parts.
Just a few notes about the interview. We had to edit the volume of the questions and answers as Harry's hearing aid was on the blink that day and we had to talk quite loudly in comparison to his answers. When we discuss the War Memorial outside the clubhouse, Harry initially thought we were talking about the Sundial. Finally we were not clear when asking Harry about the Kesteven Cup. We should have reffered to K Day. In any event we hope you enjoy it. If you have any feedback or would like to suggest someone else in the club that we could interview please do not hesitate to contact myself graeme@taylorsmistake.com or Jim Turpin.
Audio part 1 0 - 5 min
Audio part 2 5 - 10 min
Audio part 3 10 - 15 min
Audio part 4 15 - 19 min
This interview is part of the archiving project that we have started to work on. The aim of the project is to record and archive the important information about the club, the people and its history. A key part of this project is recording the individual memories of our club members. With this in mind we thought it would be appropriate to start with Harry who holds the most senior position in the club.
