Taylors Mistake won the Southern Surf League today at New Brighton, beating South Brighton by 4 points. The team of Liam O'Loughlin (captain), Peter Rattray, Jimmy Rattray, Megan Brooker, Ben Phillips, Brie Thomas, James Craib, George Thomas, Mike Phillips, Nick Smith, Fraser Bickley, James Feathery, Viv Bickley, and Mike Smith (manager), competed consistently well throughout the day, with top three placings in almost every event. We improved on our past years weaknesses with the canoe boys (Fraser, Nick, Jimmy & James F) pulling in a couple of second placings, as well as the IRB and beach flags being competitive. Special mention must go to the title winners:

Mens Ski Race: Liam O'Loughlin and James Feathery

Mens Board Race: Liam O'Loughlin and Ben Phillips

Womans Board Race: Megan Brooker and Brie Thomas

Mixed Tube Rescue: Peter Rattray and Viv Bickley

Ironman: Peter Rattray

Ironman relay:

The club put the powerplay (for double points) on Peter Rattray in the Ironman event, and he well and truly came to the party with a stellar win, miles ahead of any other competitor. Also, well done to James Craib and Jimmy Rattray for their 3rd placings in the beach sprint and beach flags respectively, and to Brie Thomas for a fine effort in the board race (3rd) with Megs (1st). Overall, it was a great team effort and everyone worked well together.
