AFS student
We have received an email from an AFS student (into swimming and swim coaching) in the USA who would like to stay with a Surf Life Saving Family.
I am involved in AFS Intercultural Programs, a volunteer-based exchange
organization that has been operating since 1947. AFS was set up to promote
peace and cultural understanding through exchanges, with AFS New Zealand
currently sending over 200 NZ high school students on exchange every year
and hosting a similar number here in New Zealand.
I am trying to find a host family for a student arriving in late January
from the USA. Kelly is 16 and has a passion for swimming. She is a swimming
teacher, and although she has only been to the ocean a few times in the USA,
she loves it so much that she hopes to study marine biology and education so
that she can teach others about it. She would really like to be hosted by a
family in New Zealand that shares her passion and can help her get involved
in a surf club.
I hoped it would be possible for you to send out an email to your members or
post something in a newsletter asking if anyone would be interested in
hosting Kelly? Any help would be much appreciated.
If so I can give you more information, any questions let me know,
If you can help please contact Graeme gmarshall@clear.net.nz and I will put you in contact with the person who sent the email.
