Club Captain nominated for lifeguard of the year

Mike Smith is one of three finalist for surf lifesaving New Zealand surf lifeguard of the year award.
This is to be presented on 28 July at a special ceremony in Parliament hosted by the Hon Dr Lockwood Smith. Mike will travel to Wellington for the announcement. Mike is a extremely dedicated to the surf club as a Club Captain, Patrol Captain, Patrol Operations Manager, committee member and he managed the Taylors team for the patrol competition . . .which we won. Mike also managed the Taylors MIstake team at the Canterbury Surf League and also our team at the National champs.
