First Aid is an important part of a lifeguards role on the beach. Lifeguards are trained to perform rescues, first aid and to respond to medical emergencies. Lifeguards around New Zealand usually provide first aid to more than 1000 people annually.
There are a number first aid courses available to lifeguards
Level 1: Workplace First Aid
Level 2: Oxygen and Defibrilation Therapy
Level 3: PHEC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care)
The Taylors Mistake first aid room is ready for any emergency. We carry an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), Spinal boards, Oxygen and Penthrox as well as other pain relief. We have fully stocked first aid supplies to treat all other injuries.
A schedule for training opportunities will be posted here later in the year.
